Making visions come to life as a story teller
What started off as a blog about my slight obsession with nail polish, has now evolved into all the creative aspects of my life. Throughout the years I used this blog (at first on wordpress.com) as a source for creative output. In the fall of 2017, I finally decided to do what I enjoy full time and its thanks to this idea that started with a bottle of nail polish.
Hi my names Joty! I first started this blog off in 2011 when I became fascinated about the world of Nail Polish and everything that involved nail art. I started blogging about reviews of certain collections , and then later started doing YouTube Video/Tutorials.
My love for DIY’s started when one day I was shopping around for a Makeup Vanity to store all my makeup. While shopping around for one,I noticed how expensive they all were and I didn’t want to spend over $100 as I don’t have a lot of makeup. So while shopping in Ikea, seeing one of the desks there, an Idea popped into my head. From there the idea took off .
I documented the whole process and at the end made a quick video on my iPhone thinking nothing of it. The next day I got a bunch of traffic to the video and was getting positive responses. I also noticed the amount of traffic on my blog from social media especially from Pinterest. Since I loved creating things and saving money I just ended up doing more DIY videos.
I stopped posting for a couple of years because I got caught up with work to save up for school and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
So now that you’ve heard how I got started, here’s a little bit more about me! I was born in Vancouver BC, and have lived in the Lower-mainland my whole life. I work as an Freelance Web Developer and Graphic Designer.
I listen to mostly Hip Hop, but I’m also into Soft Rock and Classic Rock. I’m a huge gaming fan and you can usually find me glued to my Xbox on my downtime, I eventually want to get back into PC gaming but with the PC I have right now it doesn’t quite meet the mark. Some of my favourite games have been the Mass Effect Series, and KOTOR. I love to draw, paint and bring those creations to life (as you can tell from this blog!).
One of my hidden talents is that I love to bake cakes, cake pops, cup cakes and especially Sugar Cookies. I usually bake on special occasions or holidays because I make everything from scratch and that can be time consuming. Thanks to my Kitchen Aid though I have cut that time in half!
Be Sure to follow my instagram below as I like posting my creations on there!
